Photodynamic therapy is the impact of light beams on pathological cells to destroy them. Only three elements are needed for the necessary reaction to occur: a photosensitizer (a chemical substance capable of identifying “worn out” cells and accumulating in them), oxygen, and a light wave of a specific length and power.

Heleo4 phototherapy is a smart therapy that triggers the process of self-elimination of old skin cells and stimulates the production of new ones. Indications for photodynamic therapy

How does Heleo4 phototherapy work?

Heleo4 is suitable for people of different ages and of all skin types. A rapid effect is achieved via reactive oxygen species on old damaged cells, with a photosensitizer (based on biologically active substances extracted from spirulina algae) finding improperly functioning skin cells, and settling on them. Then light beams of a specific length and power come into play. They are what affect the photosensitizer, permitting the oxygen of aged cells to become active, thereby leading to the instant self-liquidation of old cells and allowing the growth of new cell and promoting skin rejuvenation.

Procedure stages

It may take from 2 to 8 photodynamic therapy treatments to achieve a stable effect. There is no recovery period after Heleo4 phototherapy. The procedure does not cause redness, swelling, or inflammatory reactions. Patients need not adhere to any restrictions after undergoing the therapy.

Consultation with a cosmetologist.

This allows the specialist to correctly assess the problem, choose the necessary photosensitizer for phototherapy, and calculate light exposure power.

Skin cleansing.

It is necessary to thoroughly clean the area that will undergo the procedure from impurities and cosmetics for effective therapy.

Application of photosensitizer.

Depending on the objective, the cosmetologist chooses a photosensitizer with the appropriate set of components and applies it to the skin. The time allotted for the photosensitizer is anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes.

Photodynamic therapy.

The patient lies on the couch under the LED lamp, adjusted to the program set by the doctor. It is necessary to wear special protective glasses and exposure to the light begins. The duration of the procedure is approximately 30 minutes. The patient does not experience discomfort, painful sensations, or unpleasant burning. At the end of phototherapy, the doctor removes the remains of the photosensitizer and applies a soothing and restorative product to the skin.

Heleo4 phototherapy results:

Contraindications for phototherapy may include:

pregnancy or lactation issues;

photosensitivity;

tendency toward keloid scars;

epilepsy.
