Laser Permanent Makeup and Tattoo Removal

Permanent makeup greatly simplifies the life of modern women. There is no need to spend extra time on carefully drawing the contours of one’s eyebrows or lips today. Just one treatment is enough to give your eyebrows a beautiful shape and bright color. But what should you do if you don’t like the result or you need to get rid of the permanent makeup? That’s where laser technology comes in.

Laser permanent makeup and tattoo removal is the most modern way to completely get rid of an unwanted picture or misshapen eyebrows. In the past, mechanical or chemical methods to destroy pigmented skin that left behind unsightly scars and marks was needed in order to remove color from under the skin. It was impossible to get rid of eyebrow or lip tattooing. However, laser technology today allows you to remove tattoos on the face or body without leaving a trace.

Cosmetologists can use ruby, alexandrite, or diode lasers to remove tattoos, but the most effective is the neodymium laser. This is due to its high-speed pulse formation, which has a minimal negative impact on the skin. The neodymium laser’s infrared rays most effectively affect all pigments regardless of color and skin type.

How does laser tattoo and permanent makeup removal work?

The Q-switched Nd:YAG neodymium laser is recognized as the “gold standard” in tattoo removal. The mechanism behind it is based on the effect of ultrashort pulsed light waves on the pigment of paints used in permanent makeup. The targeted impact of the laser beam on the granules of paint leads to its defragmentation. One or another pigment of the tattoo is “knocked out” depending on the wavelength. So, when using a laser beam with a wavelength of 1064 nm, the cosmetologist removes black, blue, and brown tattoo pigments. And when exposed to the drawing laser in 532 nm, warm shades of paint, including red and yellow, are removed from the skin of the face. It should be noted that only the neodymium laser copes with these tattoo colors. The defragmented pigment of the ink is removed from the body during the procedure, making the tattoo lighter and more inconspicuous. To completely remove the unwanted drawing may require from 2 to 15 procedures depending on the depth of the ink in the tattoo and the saturation of color.

Procedure stages

The laser removal of tattoo and permanent makeup does not leave scars and marks, it is considered almost painless and safe, but still requires a bit of rehabilitation. The eyebrows should not be covered with a band-aid after the removal of permanent makeup, as this will slow down healing. Carefully wash your face with running water within two days. You should use micellar water or tonics without alcohol to cleanse the skin of the face. Apply cleansers to the face with cotton pads. Do not tear off or touch the crust (scab) in the treated area. Do not apply cosmetics in the area of exposure until it comes off. A cream to encourage the epithelialization of the skin such as Bepanthen or Pantestin should be applied to the area of exposure 1-2 times a day. It is not recommended to visit saunas and baths, stay in the sun, or visit tanning salons for a month after the procedure. The procedure is performed once a month.
Consultation with a cosmetologist.
This allows the specialist to properly assess the problem and choose the correct device mode.
Skin disinfection and preparation for laser tattoo removal.
No special preparation is required. The skin is treated with antiseptic, with the patient wearing protective goggles. And although the procedure is considered painless, anesthetic drugs (creams) may be used in some cases.
Removal procedure.
The specialist sets the necessary parameters on the laser device and short frequent light pulses affect the unwanted tattoo. The color pigment is destroyed, and its remains are naturally removed from the body thanks to macrophages.
Final facial treatment.
After the procedure is completed, a special, soothing antibacterial cream is applied to the area treated.
