Lip Shape Correction

Lip shape and volume correction is one of the most popular procedures in cosmetology today. How does lip contouring work?

Hyaluronic acid fillers are used for lip contouring. The structure of the filler resembles a gel, which is injected into a particular area of the lips with a very thin needle, filling voids, and eliminating folds and wrinkles. A topical cream anesthetic, applied before the procedure, reduces pain and the lidocaine contained in the filler makes the procedure not only painless, but comfortable. The lip correction filler is biodegradable and does not remain in the lips permanently. It is eliminated from the body without a trace after 10-12 months, making the lip augmentation and correction procedure one that must be repeated.

Procedure stages

Experts recommended that patients not visit the sauna, tanning salon, or the gym for a week after undergoing the procedure. Patients should refrain from putting any strenuous pressure on the lips, such as kissing or massaging them.

Consultation with a cosmetologist.

This allows the cosmetologist to evaluate the shape and size of the lips, calculate the proper filler dose. The specialist also outlines the introduction technique.

Skin cleansing.

You need to thoroughly clean the skin of impurities and cosmetics before carrying out lip contouring.

Anesthesia.

The doctor applies an anesthetic cream for 10 minutes.

Injections with fillers.

The doctor injects the filler in the areas predetermined at the consultation. The cosmetologist carefully distributes the product over the lips with massaging finger movements during and immediately after introducing the filler.

Final skincare.

Healing and moisturizing products are applied to the patient's lips at the end of the procedure. The procedure can last anywhere from 30 to 50 minutes depending on the amount of correction necessary.

Rehabilitation after lip shape and volume correction

The lips may look swollen and red after filler injections, but this will pass in a few hours. The final result will be visible in 7-14 days.
