Mesotherapy

One of the most popular procedures for facial rejuvenation is mesotherapy, also known as “beauty cocktail” injections. This is a non-surgical skin revitalization method.

Mesotherapy involves the introduction of microdoses of drugs into the middle layers of the skin. These drugs include various vitamins, microelements, amino acids, peptides, and other useful substances. Such a “powerful” cocktail effectively fights the signs of aging, stimulates metabolic processes in the skin and the production of collagen and elastin, moisturizes the skin, as well as saturates it with useful elements.

Mesotherapy is not only used for rejuvenation and face lifting today. It is successfully applied to improve hair, fight cellulite, smooth scars, treat acne, and even lose weight.

How does mesotherapy work?

Mesotherapy is not called a “beauty cocktail” for nothing. The multicomponent composition of the drugs used for the procedure has multiple effects. For example, vitamins act as antioxidants, hyaluronic acid deeply moisturizes the skin, while lipase and collagenase have a lipolytic effect and stimulate the production of elastin and collagen. The composition of the cocktail, dosage and injection sites are determined by the doctor depending on the problems to be treated. The specialist makes the injections manually or with the help of special devices. They are painless thanks to the topical anesthetic cream applied at the beginning of the procedure. A mixture of useful substances is injected directly into the middle layers of the skin to a depth of 0.5 to 1 mm. This allows mesotherapy to achieve maximum beneficial effects at once. The skin looks fresh and radiant after the first procedure: the face is tightened and swelling goes away. However, experts recommend 5 to 10 procedures to consolidate the effect for up to 1 year.

Procedure stages

The procedure lasts anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes.

Consultation with a cosmetologist.

The specialist assesses the condition of the skin, excludes any contraindications, and selects the composition of the cocktail based on the individual characteristics of the patient and their problems.

Cleansing and anesthesia.

The skin is cleaned of decorative cosmetics and other impurities, and then treated with antiseptic. After that, a topical anesthetic cream is applied to the face and neck.

"Beauty cocktail" injections.

The doctor makes mesotherapy injections in the predetermined points.

Final skincare.

Healing and soothing products are applied to the patient's face and neck at the end of the procedure.

Rehabilitation after mesotherapy

Small papules may appear immediately after the procedure at the injection sites. They soon disappear on their own. Mesotherapy is a quite simple procedure that does not require any recovery period. However, experts recommend that patients not wash their faces for 6-7 hours, and not visit a sauna, tanning salon, and the gym for 2-3 days.
